It has been an interesting decade for GOWA.Since
its inception in 1996, the focus has been on membership development
to have a large network, seminars and workshops to create
awareness of different facets of a woman's' life, awards to
motivate women and counseling women. GOWA now has shifted
gears. Fewer activities and more focused on mentoring the
girl child.
Here in a nutshell is GOWA from 2005….
In
2006 GOWA moved its office from Bangalore, India to Mysore.Located
at the Arsha Vidya Kendra in a building funded by the grant
given by Global Fund for Women ten years ago, GOWA has now
pledged its objective to provide amenities for underprivileged
rural girls housed in the Leelavathi Chatralaya, an AIM for
SEVA project of Arsha Vidya Kendra.
